🌟 Meet Makenzie — Turning Connection into Confidence
Starting your child’s autism journey can feel overwhelming. More than anything, you want someone who will truly see your child — someone who brings patience, understanding, and a heart for helping them grow.
That’s exactly what Makenzie brings to Creating Brighter Futures.
Makenzie’s path into this work was shaped by her studies in social work and her own personal journey. “I’ve been through some tough times, and it made me want to help others feel supported — especially kids,” she shares. At first, she wasn’t sure if this field was the right fit. But after just one day working with the kids, everything changed. “I completely fell in love with it. The kids were so full of life and personality, and I realized how much I wanted to be part of their growth.”
As a Behavior Technician, Makenzie focuses on building strong, trusting relationships through something called “pairing” — learning what each child enjoys and using those interests to connect and support them. Whether it’s songs, games, or shared smiles, she creates an environment where kids feel safe, motivated, and ready to learn.
She also works closely with our Board Certified Behavior Analysts, using data and daily observations to tailor each child’s therapy experience. Parents stay informed through daily “go-home notes,” which include progress highlights and joyful moments. “We always end on a positive note — we want parents to feel hopeful every day,” Makenzie says.
Makenzie believes that therapy should never feel cold or clinical. “It should be playful and personal. These kids deserve to feel excited about learning and proud of themselves.” Her long-term dream is to become a trauma therapist for children — and that compassion already shines through in her work.
At Creating Brighter Futures, your child won’t just be a client. With Makenzie, they’ll be seen, supported, and celebrated — one step, one smile, and one breakthrough at a time.
