By the time Katelyn found Creating Brighter Futures, her family had been through a long and exhausting road. Her son Milo, bright and verbal but struggling with severe behaviors, had been rejected by multiple therapy centers. He was “too old,” “too intense,” or “not a good fit.” The message was always the same: we can’t help you.

But when Katelyn reached out to Creating Brighter Futures, the answer was different. “Okay,” they said. “Let’s work through it.”

That simple yes was life-changing.

Milo had been through more school changes than most children experience in a lifetime — and the toll was heavy. Katelyn described how their family had come to expect the worst with every phone call. There was no community, no consistency, and no sense of stability. But at Creating Brighter Futures, things were different.

For the first time, Milo had a team that not only understood him — they embraced him. They welcomed his challenges, celebrated his strengths, and worked with Katelyn every step of the way. Together, they developed strategies to manage behavior, improve transitions, and build essential life skills. And just as importantly, they offered something Katelyn didn’t even realize she needed: real emotional support.

She recalls one day when her son refused to get out of the car in the pouring rain — and Jessica stood outside with him, patiently waiting until he was ready. No pressure. No judgment. Just presence.

Over time, Katelyn saw a transformation. Milo learned how to navigate tough moments, express his needs, and engage with peers in a way that once felt impossible. He found joy, confidence, and calm — and so did she.

Today, Katelyn says she wouldn't hesitate to recommend Creating Brighter Futures to any parent navigating autism and behavioral challenges. It’s a place where children are seen, parents are supported, and the journey forward finally feels possible.
