What is Music Therapy Anyway?!

Music Therapy is the clinical & evidence-based use of music interventions to accomplish individualized goals within a therapeutic relationship by a credentialed professional. Music therapy interventions can address a variety of healthcare & educational goals:

  • Promote Wellness
  • Manage Stress
  • Alleviate Pain
  • Express Feelings
  • Enhance Memory
  • Improve Communication
  • Promote Physical Rehabilitation

Kelly Garland-Egeler is a Board-Certified Music Therapist, and she started her private practice, Life Dynamic Music Therapy in 2010. She has partnered with Creating Brighter Futures for many years to provide our clients with opportunities for music therapy. She has worked with many different people with a range of abilities and challenges, including infants in NICU, children and adults with special needs (especially autism), adults with cancer, and adults with cognitive and memory loss.

“From these experiences, I have gained a sense of appreciation and earnestness in practice for the unique needs of the people I have cared for - the need for social justice, compassion, commitment, and unconditional positive regard. I will continue to explore, learn, and try novel approaches to develop and improve my clinical practice to provide the best possible outcomes for you and your loved one.”
